Headteacher

Hello,
A good start in primary school will help children to be ready for secondary school and for the rest of their lives! Our first responsibility is to provide a happy and safe environment where children can  grow as individuals and experience a quality inclusive education. Happy children are active and enthusiastic learners. We know our pupils well and we do our very best to make sure each child feels valued, relaxed, included and listened to.

In order to do well every child needs to read. Reading is a skill pupils will need in every subject and in all they do; now and in the future. We also believe in strongly promoting reading for pleasure for all families. Our innovative and strong practice in Reading has been recognised locally, nationally and internationally. We were awarded the Liverpool, Gold Standard Reading Quality Mark locally. Nationally we are Network School of the Year, National Literacy Trust 2014 and National Reading Recovery School of the Year

If you are a parent who is looking for a school place for their child, then I hope our site will be useful. Our partnership with parents is at the heart of our school’s success. At Whitefield you will find:

  • An inspirational school ethos around the motto of “Nothing But the Best”
  • An inclusive environment ensuring that individual needs are met and all children make good and outstanding progress
  • A Learning challenge Curriculum fit for the times and with the Whitefield WOW factor!
  • A completely new outdoor environment with state of the art equipment
  • The development of outstanding outdoor learning spaces for Early Years including a giant sandpit and water pump and Forest school with 120 trees
  • Positive pupil involvement through the school council and the values of Respect, Responsibility and Honesty. Ofsted found behaviour to be outstanding in 2013
  • High attendance (97.4%) and an expectation that every child attends at least 96% of the time.
  • Enriched opportunities provided through the learning challenge curriculum and made available through school clubs, visits and many other opportunities to give every child at our school an enhanced and enriched experience.
  • Please feel free to contact me at school for any further information. I am always pleased to show parents around our school and chat about what we can offer your child.
