Whitefield Primary School: Financial Education Vision Statement
At Whitefield , we believe that in today’s society it is essential that children are educated and prepared for the financial world that we live in. We need to prepare them to be active and responsible financial citizens and have a secure understanding of how managing finances and budgets can impact on their future lives and careers.
Our vision is that pupils possess the knowledge, skills and confidence in personal finance that enable them:
- To be resilient when faced with financial issues
- To show respect for other people’s financial situations.
- To responsibly handle money and to make informed financial decisions.
In this current ‘cost of living’ crisis, it is important to all of our children and families that we provide a strong foundation in financial understanding to allow them to flourish in the future and live financially secure and successful lives. We aim to provide a range of opportunities for both our children and families to learn about finances and apply their knowledge and skills.
To achieve this, and to further our curriculum, we are working towards becoming a Centre of Excellence for Financial Excellence.
